Mexico's Trash Problem Hits Home

Here I stand on my balcony, over looking this beautiful pacific ocean and Ensenada Harbor. What a beautiful and peaceful setting. One of the main reasons for moving to Mexico was this inexpensive lifestyle I can live, and the beautiful environment. But wait, I said beautiful enviornment, well, if you don"t look at all the freekin trash everywhere, then yes it is a beautiful enviornment. But what is totally disgusting me is the trash that lays everywhere.
I am going to point out only one aspect in this article. The Mexican People. Yes, the Mexicans themselves are totally responsible for this freekin mess. I am pointing the finger at those Mexicans that just don't care, that have no values,
that make this beautiful place disgusting.
- You know, I am looking out my big bay window and from here I can see the neighbors yard. Why in the hell do they just walk over daily, the milk jug, the empty plastic bottles and other pieces of trash that litter their yard? We have 10 55 gallon garbage cans at our disposal, you would think it would be a simple task to just pick up the garbage and put it in the can. But NO.
You know, I have to say, I believe it is because for the most part the mexican population lives well below the normal standards you and I are used to, and because of that, I believe they just feel trashy, and for them it is ok to just throw their garbage wherever they want. One morning last week, the dogs just happend to pull a bag from the can and of course spread the mess everywhere. Now, both of the neighbors had walked by damn near over and though all this garbage to get into their cars and simply drive away. I couldn't believe my eyes, this is their front entrance. In fact I have never once witness a neighbor picking up any trash from the ground. I am the one who does it, and well, it is pissing me off to continue to have to do this. It should not be there in the first place.
So after watching all this take place and with disgust, I went down and with my rake, cleaned up the mess while the children watched from there patio. WTF. Pick up the freekin trash. It has to start at home, really, it could only spread good vibes and intentions if they would just accept the value of a clean yard, then the entire neighborhood, then the whole street, and geez, from there we could make a difference that might catch on throughout this community.
I also believe that we need to educate the children in these communities, the importance of recycling, and keeping their yards, and their streets clean. This is my goal, to begin efforts in my community to educate, not only the youth, but the adults. We have to do something or this mess will just continue to explode. It is just simply disgusting. We all have to do our part, if we want to continue to be able to see this enviornment as BEAUTIFUL!!! Please get off your butt and do something. I have so much to write about and to show everyone.
